π Qualifying Child Rules (Age)
To be a qualifying child for the EITC, your child must be:
Step 1: Check if the child is permanently and totally disabled
Use this when you need to confirm disability status for EITC eligibility.
Any age and permanently and totally disabled at any time during the year. For more information, see Disability and Earned Income Tax Credit.
Step 2: Check if the child is under age 19 (and younger than you)
Use this when the child is younger than 19 at the end of the year.
